Because when it’s all said and done, isn’t that all that matters?

Price, quality, convenience, preference, ease of purchase… these all factor in. But when it comes down to it, whether I buy from you or you buy from me it comes down to that magical five-letter word with U smack dab in the middle of it.

Trust.

It Doesn’t Have To Be Trial-And-Error

It used to be that if you didn’t know somebody who could offer a direct referral for a particular business or product, you just had to take a chance. Was the new restaurant in town any good? You’d have to pay for a meal to find out. Best place in town to buy a new washing machine? Usually the loudest print ad would win the day. Need repairs for your car? Better have a referral or there’s no telling how much it might cost you.

I Trust Jay – If You Trust Me, You Can Trust Jay Too

Trust. It's a crucial business component

This is Jay. You should trust Jay, I do.

I went to Jay the first time because my friend Earl heavily recommended him. Jay works at a Shell station in Howell… probably my least favorite gas station. Ever. In my world Shell seems to have an overinflated opinion of itself which leads to higher than necessary gas prices and repair prices I would never pay.

Needless to say, based on past experience, I paused. But Earl told me stories about Jay’s reputation, and about how he worked with the neighborhood kids to fix their cars when they didn’t have enough money.

That was enough for me.

How Much For That Repair Job In The Window?

The first time I took my car to Jay it was because I needed to get the tail light fixed on my 2004 Dodge Stratus so my oldest son Josh could take his driver’s license test. It was the wrong time of the month to pick up another bill, but it had to be done. When I explained the situation to Jay, he took the time to call around to find a used taillight. The savings to me was $10. The fact that he took the time to save me the money?  Priceless.

Do people trust you? Would your current customers recommend you? Are they recommending you? If you don’t know, you need to.

Trust is the foundation of any relationship that matters. Your business matters. I trust you to recognize that.
